3 Days Uganda Mountain Gorilla Tracking Trip
This safari takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park the world’s number one site for mountain gorilla trekking.
There are less than 800 mountain gorillas world over and Uganda is home to more than a half of these beautiful and endangered apes. Therefore, Gorilla tracking in Uganda is a must experience not to be missed. Uganda has eleven habituated gorilla families all available for tracking. Bwindi impenetrable National Park, does not only offer Gorillas for tracking but is also Africa’s number one birding spot and yet among the forest in Africa with the richest biodiversity. In addition to the nine gorilla families at Bwindi, please expect to big numbers of other primates species namely; man’s closest relatives the Chimpanzees, Mantled guereza, Central African red colobus, Olive baboons, just to mention but a few.
Day 1: Gorilla Trekking Tour to Bwindi in Uganda
Early in the morning we head west to the Home of the popular mountain Gorillas. We have a brief stop at the Equator for an informative talk as well as a photographic opportunity and the experience in both hemispheres. This tour takes you through beautiful scenery especially at the sighting of the Kigezi highlands which are some times refereed to as the Switzerland of Uganda. We carry Packed Lunch
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Uganda
Have Breakfast and with packed Lunch report to the ranger station for registration and a briefing by the a ranger guide on matters regarding Gorilla tracking and forest conduct, then you will be taken into the sanctuary to enjoy the beauty and freshness of the forest yet the home to over a half of the world’s Mountain Gorillas for your tracking experience.
Gorilla tracking takes 2– 8 hours, it depends on how long it takes to meet these wild gentle giants, some fitness is required. On meeting the Gorillas, you are allowed to spend one hour with them. Imagine an experience, sitting among the gorillas amidst the forest, listening to them grumble to each other! An optional guided village walk to the local Batwa community will be available in the evening for the interested members.
Day 3: Finishing Uganda Gorilla Tracking Safari
We have breakfast then embark on our approximately eight hour journey to either Kampala or Entebbe. Lunch enroute.
